Watch: UUI Board Members Talk About Their Workshops at IC26
Four members of the board of Urantia University presented significant workshops during The Urantia Book Fellowship’s international conference held in California in July 2026.
In one workshop, Merritt Horn (above) introduced his major new book, A Harmony of Four Gospels and the Urantia Papers. What was important for Urantia Book readers to know as a result of his work, he explained, was the reason the revelators used so much biblical language in Part IV: they wanted to make a connection with the wider culture. The workshop was called “The Gospels and Part IV Side-by-Side." The book is on sale at Urantia University Press. Watch his summary below:
UUI board President Claire Thurston presented her ideas and conducted group exercises around the theme of “Creating Your Spiritual Legacy.” Participants were guided to start writing their “spiritual memoir.” They learned that the real story of their lives revolves around spiritual milestones—such as significant decisions and valuable experiences—rather than social events. Marvin Gawryn spoke about the Urantia revelation giving rise to “The Global Emergence of New Symbolic Spiritual Culture.” The essential symbolism indicated throughout the text, he said, was “spiritual family.” By intentionally conveying that symbolism and developing the culture around it, the Urantia movement could become a “messenger people” to help uplift global civilization. Andre Radatus presented a workshop alongside the Fellowship's Cristina Seaborn on “Awakening the Leader Within: Emergent Leadership in the Urantia Community.” They introduced participants to several leadership styles and gave examples of how Jesus used practically all of them. Small group discussions were designed to get participants thinking about their own contribution as leaders. Here's his summary:
