Jim Downs
Author of
The Book of Positive Qualities
“UUI Cafes are a healthy way to connect with like-minded old and new readers of the Urantia book. New folks can feel comfortable asking questions, sharing the history of their spiritual life, making comments on how they are moving forward in doing the Father's will. Seasoned readers are prepared to cross-reference the current topic of the day with other information in the book. They usually comment on how these other paragraphs correlate with each other and the overall messages and intent of the Revelators. (48:7.28) Knowledge is possessed only by sharing; it is safeguarded by wisdom and socialized by love."
Neal Waldrop –
Trustee Emeritus of Urantia Foundation &
Chairman of The Committee for the Global Endeavor
"The revelators did their utmost to illuminate and inspire us, while inviting us to savor their profound insights and treasure their assurance of God’s love and mercy. On the understanding that the condensed and polished wording that the revelators have bequeathed to us is essentially inexhaustible, the reactions of other readers often serve to highlight aspects that we did not previously appreciate. As a result, the Café sessions that the UUI sponsors online are a wonderful opportunity to explore intriguing aspects of the fifth epochal revelation and benefit from the reactions and interpretations that other readers share with us. These inspiring experiences enable us to create or strengthen friendships that enhance our mutual appreciation for the teachings, while transcending the practical limits associated with the locations where each of us lives. I heartily commend the UUI’s Café sessions online, and I am delighted to recommend that other readers take full advantage of them!"
Trudi Cooper
Member, Executive Committee of the Urantia Book Fellowship
Chair of International Conference 2026
"What a delight it is to meet and learn from fellow readers of The Urantia Book through the courses offered by UUI! No matter which course I attend, I always learn something new, I always deepen my relationship with other students of the book, and I always discover how to enhance my connection with Our Universal Father and Mother. Whether it be learning how the angels do their work, gathering for Sunday morning worship, or studying the physical mechanisms that connect to soul growth, every zoom session builds community and grows understanding of things physical, mindal and spiritual. What a valuable experience it is to worship and study with so many thoughtful teachers and fellow readers! I truly cherish this opportunity."

Format
The UUI Cafe is moderated by members of the UUI faculty. The UUI Cafe is intended to be a place where members of the Urantia community can get together in supportive and Spirit-affirming discussions based on the clear light and spiritual truths of the Urantia Book. Each Cafe provides time for listening, studying, sharing, prayer, meditation, and worship.
There are no assignments for these discussions, but the participants are encouraged to share passages from the UB and other resources that have given them insight and guidance in difficult circumstances. Some questions that inspire conversation include:
-
How do we adapt and bring a spiritual context and understanding to the situation? How do we best minister to others in this environment? How can we spread love, not fear?
-
How do we deal with our own fears, doubts and questions?
-
How can we function as the lights in the world that we ought to be and want to be?
-
What kind of opportunities does this give us for spreading the gospel?
-
How might Spirit be using this situation to elevate spiritual awareness?
The only thing you need to join is the Zoom link.
