UUI has offered the Urantia Book New Reader Course (NRC) in English twelve times over the past several years, for a hundred plus participants. The course utilizes ten handouts of carefully chosen and juicy passages from the text. Each is designed to both intrigue new readers and still provide a comprehensive overview of the key terms and concepts, and the very different types of material in the revelation.
It is an entirely new kind of pleasure and challenge to teach this course in Korean, to a great group of new students in Seoul, South Korea. Three long-time Korean readers, Mahan, Sy and Asha, using our ten weekly English handouts, put together the side-by-side English/Korean versions (see the attached handout). We read steadily through the material, and pause whenever anyone has a question or wants an explanation Their questions are always thoughtful, and we very much enjoy these sidebar conversations. We have made our way steadily through the text over the past 16 weeks, and are reading currently in the selections on Jesus' public ministry.
The NRC is also being taught currently in English, and we offer it on a regular basis, usually once an academic year.
The Korean New Reader Course is another example of how UUI is expanding its offerings to non-English speaking readers around the world.
