Like Hansel and Gretel, we’re trying to find our way home. Unlike them, we aren’t kids lost in the local woods. Instead, we sometimes feel smaller than needles lost in an infinite haystack. Not merely days, our own journey home will consume billions of years and trillions of miles.

We aren’t traveling alone. After our first moral decision around age six, each of us was given a priceless celestial compass. This Spirit Pilot, from and of God, invites us to unite with him for eternity on our journey to our Father’s home on Paradise at the center of the universe.

Mind is our life’s ship, our will its captain. Since our physical body is an inadequate vehicle with which to undertake a universe adventure, the first task is to build a proper one. Our super-consciousness and our Pilot have formed a partnership. The human will is charged with gathering ship-building materials through daily life choices, the more the better. Our Pilot fabricates these choices into their spiritual counterparts. Working together, we gave birth to and are nourishing our soul, a brand-new universe individual.

Hansel and Gretel dropped material bread crumbs as homeward beacons. We instead follow spiritual bread crumbs laid out for us as clues to help us navigate this epic quest. Our guardian angels steer us daily into situations rich in decisions. Our Father/Brother Jesus endows us with his Spirit of Truth, a built-in truth detector. Our Spirit Pilot prepares us for each new adventure lying ahead. And our planet gained a unique, one-in-ten-million road map, the Urantia Book.

A plethora of bread crumbs, this revelation transcends the paucity of our language. Its authors can give us little more than revelation’s traces, the meager crumbs of a hearty loaf of truth, the residue of divine wine left in the glass. Expected of us is the relentless drive of a hard-driven investigator following the clues wherever they lead. Personal revelation is our coveted contribution, buttressed from within by loving spiritual validation.
