Celestial Art Retreat

A one-of-a-kind event for the crafty and the not-so-crafty

Trudi Cooper, a recent graduate of Urantia University's Teacher Education Program (TEP), along with Alice Wood (TEP Program Coordinator) and Megan Fleming, are organizing the Celestial Art Retreat, which will be a free-flowing weekend of joyful creation, relaxation, companionship, and free-range worship.

They are creating a space where Urantia Book readers can enjoy each other's company and where people who are "Urantia-curious" can learn more about what we're all about. Trudi, Alice, and Megan believe that while some people are attracted to attending events like conferences, others might be drawn to a different kind of event. It is with this in mind that they launch this unique gathering.

The Celestial Art Retreat will take place August 29 - September 1, 2025 at Emerald Temple Healing Center in Michigan, among wildflower meadows and a forest through which the River Raisin runs.

Urantia teachings will be interspersed throughout the day, but there will not be direct study of the book. Instead, participants can choose how they spend their time. Some may choose to create one of the structured art activities or use the open art space, and others may prefer to hike, swim, or read on their own. The philosophy behind the schedule encourages spontaneity.

"I believe that it is experimental events like this that will drive the Urantia community forward and propel the teachings of The Urantia Book into communities that we haven't been able to reach using our typical methods. We're trying something new, and I'm excited to see this happen. I think it's going to be a really great time." - Alice Wood

Registration is required, and early-bird pricing is available until July 1.
