Knowing God Our Mother

Striving to Know Our Mother God

on Imperfect Uncertain Urantia

Andre Radatus

My sister once said to me that she thought the Way of the Mother Spirit is to honor all her children, treating them with the respect that is due to them as persons. She went on to tell me that she did not think she was ever treated like a person that mattered by her own mother.

Some of us have a data counterpoint for knowing our immediate Creative Mother Spirit: She honors her children; she treats them with respect and love; they all matter to her, each and every one.

We learn that, to grow in her, we must more fully utilize her Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is partly independent of human attitude and partially conditioned by the decisions and co-operation of the will of man. Nevertheless, the ministry of the Holy Spirit becomes increasingly effective in the sanctification and spiritualization of the inner life of those mortals who the more fully obey the divine leadings. (379.5) 34:5.5

This is not blind obedience but a willing obedience of one whose faith says, “Mother has all my best interests in mind. Mother holds my hand as I take my first steps then lets go as I can walk on my own. Mother smiles and echoes my first words that I may the better communicate with her and my expanding world, day by day.”

Our other mother, God the Mother, Mother Supreme, creates assurance of our way forward through our willingness to make her reality better—by our “doing something” to make the Total Finite better in our small corner of it.

This, again, is not blind loyalty or servility. This is the desire to contribute our part to an ever-perfecting whole; evermore becoming the person God has conceived us to be.

Our Mother Supreme knows who we are and values our potential and reality as a growing and perfecting universe value in our evolving universe. But no God-knowing mortal can ever be lonely in h[er] journey through the cosmos, for [s]he knows that the Father walks beside h[er] each step of the way, while the very way that [s]he is traversing is the presence of the Supreme. (1291.4) 117:6.27

It is incumbent upon each of us, men and women, to trust in this love of Mother at all levels for us - from the Eternal Mother-Son, to God the Mother Supreme, to our Creative Mother Spiritwho, in her holy spirit,

beckons our thinking to its truest, best, and most beautiful functional unity; to her many angels - her ever-present hands and hearts - forging our characters so essential to our progress in a loving and other-centered universe.

How do we best show faith and trust for this mother love, all around us?

By allowing love’s flow through us, we are more and more other-centered and self-forgetful in our loving service to our fellows, even as Michael was when here sharing in our human experience, ever trusting of his spirit Mothers while doing the will of his Father.

May we be inspired by our Spirit Mothers, every day, to walk in the way of their loving nurturance - so essential a foundation to Doing Our Father’s Will In Love.
