Course Description
Can our physiologies sense spiritual ideals?
Can we consciously influence those physiologies to increase our spiritual receptivity?
Can we reconcile physical cosmology and theologic cosmology?
The Urantia Book says that man can never “discern spiritual reality through the examination of physical causes and effects”. (101:10.1) but we may be able to discern some of the influences that spiritual reality has on our physiology. We can’t “see” the wind, but we can see its influence.
In this study, we will look for ways to explain, using physics and physiology, how spiritual energies might interact with our material energies. We will look for possible coherence mechanisms in the electrochemical physical functions of body and brain, that might shed light on spiritual to material inter-associations. We will also look at our mindal/emotional overcontrol of these physiologies and perhaps find ways to improve our ability to detect, enhance and improve receptivity and capacity for spiritual influences.
Materials will be accessed via UUI's Online Campus and the link for the weekly live Zoom sessions will be emailed to you.
Level: No Prior UUI course would be required but an interest in the science content of the UB is needed.
Required Effort: Attending the videos, doing follow up research estimated 5 hours per week.

Instructors
Geoff Taylor is currently retired, relaxed, reverent, and respectful, but was an iterative experimentalist techie with a background in Aeronautical Engineering. He spent 20 years as an engineer on the Allison 250 turbo shaft engine at Standard Aero in Winnipeg, and Aviall in Dallas and in Los Angeles where he was the head of the repair and research engineering divisions. Geoff was introduced to the Urantia Book in 1984 by a PhD coworker, causing a paradigm shift in his rejected Christian upbringing and, returning to his roots in Winnipeg, he and his brother started Vista Medical Ltd. The loss of his wife to cancer put him on a quest to cure cancer and be of service to humanity. A few more patents helped the success of that company which he sold and now snowbirds with his mate, Susan Meyers, in Florida. Crashing his airplane in 2003 left him mobility challenged but refocused him on the thing that really matters most in life, relationships. His primary interest in the Urantia Book and UUI is understanding the underlying balance of God’s physics.
